The entire Scandic Eagle hotel in Bergen is decorated by Thomas Morel with a selection of taylor-made photography within the themes relevant to the hotel.
The whole project included artwork for each of the 368 rooms, 13 conference rooms, restaurant and lobby. Not only photography, but also a video-installation for the hotels lobby lounge area. You can read more about this particular project here:
The hotel rooms:
The theme for the hotel rooms was set to different imagery of eagles and other birds of prey. Each room would be built with a 1,5x1,5 meter plexiglass print, with backlight that turns on when you enter the room.
The conference rooms:
The theme of the conference rooms where based on different weather phenomenons as Bergen is known for it's weather conditions. To shoot these themes within the time-limit, we agreed on shooting all imagery during two full-day studio sequences in collaboration with dancers from local dance-companies.
